Thornbury Cider is the flagship product of Thornbury Village Cidery. Thornbury Village Cidery was established with the aim to produce premium quality ciders that would tantalize the palette. What better place to create a lip-smacking cider than in the heart of apple country, Thornbury, Ontario? We proudly craft our cider in the midst of 7,500 acres of apple orchards. Using the finest apples that these orchards have to offer, we have created an easy drinking, light, crisp and refreshing cider.

Our cidery is a state-of-the-art production facility that runs along the golden shores of Georgian Bay. We have invested time and effort into transforming the building into one of the most efficient production systems and modern cider houses in Ontario. Boasting a cider maker with a passionate obsession, we strive to continuously enhance the quality of our ciders with the hope that one day Thornbury will be associated with cider the same way Niagara is associated with Canadian wine.

The Cider Master

Nothing pleases Doug Johnson more than positive response to Thornbury Premium Cider. And why wouldn't it? He's the head cider master at Thornbury Village Cidery.

He set out to craft a light, easy to drink, champagne style cider with just a very slight hint of apple. And he's succeeded. From first time cider drinkers to cider aficionados, Thornbury Cider is being enjoyed by all types of people and a wide-range of taste buds. It's universal appeal projects into a very bright future.

With a background in biochemistry and over 20 years of experience in various types of fermentation and apple processing, Doug Johnson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Thornbury Village Cidery. Passion too.

He's also proud of the fact that Thornbury is produced in Thornbury, Ontario. Thornbury is in the heart of Ontario Apple country with a base of knowledgeable, experienced apple growers. The cidery couldn't be in a better place.

And for the record, Doug prefers his Thornbury Premium Cider over a mound of ice.
